The owner, Glenn Foss, is a doctor with over 25 years of experience in physical rehabilitation. Many of the programs are consequently designed to help injured athletes regain full function so they can return to their sport. The return-to-play program includes such services as concussion screening. Personal trainers will work with the athletes to strengthen themselves and thus prevent further injury.
The fitness classes in Wayne include both personal and small group training. A personal trainer may work with a client to help them prepare for a specific sport, recover from an injury, or improve their overall fitness. Sessions with a personal trainer will include speed and agility training as well as strength training. Small group training is similar to personal training, and the group is small enough to allow the instructor work with a client one-on-one when they need help or guidance.
The larger classes are yoga, barre, spin, boot camp, low impact, and functional training. The yoga class includes restorative yoga, meditation, and breathing exercises, and it is open to all skill levels.
In barre, participants will use the ballet barre to support themselves while exercising to improve their strength and range-of-motion. Some of the exercises are derived from yoga or Pilates.
In spin, participants pedal stationary bikes, which helps them improve their endurance and cardiovascular fitness.
Boot camp offers a vigorous workout designed to increase cardiovascular efficiency and strength while losing fat. Boot camp includes weight machines, free weights, and calisthenics like push-ups.
Low-impact workouts are designed to reduce stress on the joints. They are intended for people who are either just starting a fitness program or who have joint or muscle problems.
Functional training is also designed for people recovering from injuries or returning to training after a long hiatus. The workouts focus on the core muscles of the abdomen and lower back to increase strength and mobility.
